Arnoldo's Bliky/ posts/ Law in Costa Rica

A Costa Rican killed in an U.S. airport for saying he had a bomb made me realize of fundamental differences in laws between countries. The Costa Rican guy was bipolar and he did not have any medication at the time of the incident. His wife told the police that he was bipolar and he did not have any medication but they shoot anyway. In contrast, an ex-marine in Costa Rica starts to shoot people around his neighborhood, killing a doctor, and he receives 3 months of psychological therapy. Instead of taking the marine down the police talked to the guy until he finally surrendered. The problem in Costa Rica is that laws are designed for the peaceful paradise it was 30 years ago. Laws should be more strict in order to reduce crime.
